I'm Dr. Catherine Hinzner, a UCL medical graduate currently working in New Zealand after completing my Foundation training at Royal Cornwall Hospital. My connection to New Zealand actually began years before I moved here for clinical practice - during medical school, I took a two-year intercalation to travel and work in New Zealand, and it was during that time I discovered my passion for teaching.

While traveling, I started tutoring medical school applicants through the interview process, and what began as a way to fund my adventures became something I genuinely loved. Over the next few years - both whilst traveling and after returning to complete my final years at UCL - I accumulated over 300 hours of 1-on-1 interview preparation experience, working with students applying to competitive UK Medical programmes who successfully gained at least one offer post interview.

My approach remains practical and structured - I focus on building frameworks for MMI stations and panel interviews, developing authentic responses to ethical scenarios, and creating genuine confidence rather than rehearsed performance. With my clinical experience I am better able the roles of a doctor, what qualities truly matter in clinical practice, and how to communicate your understanding of the realities of a medical career.

I'm working with motivated students who want honest, practical guidance from someone who has both taught this extensively and lived the journey from anxious applicant to working doctor.
